Pediatric Special Needs:
Dr. Kadish has a 35+ year history of treating children with an emphasis on those experiencing autism and pervasive developmental delays (ASD/PDD). He employs what is known as the biomedical approach. This scientific assessment and treatment is clinically proven to make major changes, with the majority of youngsters. We use the biomedical approach along with the combined input of other providers, including physical, speech and occupational therapists to maximize recovery.
We use the “test don’t guess” approach. This way we can evaluate our patients with a comprehensive workup which allows us to selectively focus our treatment/s on the most effective areas of concern. We limit the use of prescription medications as often times they prove unnecessary or only prove useful for short term use.
It important to address the full spectrum of potential issues from genetics to disturbed biochemistry. The newest work has consistently shown that the majority of ASD patients suffer from a number of biochemical difficulties including, immune, gastrointestinal and neurological challenges.
The good news is that many of these issues can be addressed, principally without drugs and successfully changed , with significant results in the majority of patients.
We invite you to read our blog section on the newest findings in autism. The treatments tend to be high reward with limited risks and because of the absolute need to give our children an opportunity to achieve their highest potentials we see this path time and again change whole families, for the better.
Dr. Kadish has participated in advanced training in ASD/PPD since the 1990’s. He achieved level 2 physician training in both the Autistic Research Institute (DAN) program and the (MAPS) Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs program. He maintains his fluency by reading the ongoing research and focusing on additional continuing education in this area of interest, regularly.
For 35+ years Dr. Kadish has focused on using scientifically based means of evaluation and treatment for those on the spectrum and patients who may be experiencing issues with their development.
Our goal is for a time and cost-efficient evaluation and the ability to start patients on the road to recovery quickly.
There are many proven consistent findings in this patient population and it never fails to amaze both the parents, our staff and other physicians how often significant changes can be achieved. This is one of those evolving fields and we are using the newest techniques to maximize responses including, the referral for occupational, speech, physical and behavioral services.
