Meta-analysis supports lutein’s eye health benefits

High dietary intake of lutein and zeaxanthin, compounds with a long history of eye health benefits, may reduce the risk of late-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD), but they show little effect in the early stages of the disease, claims a new meta-analysis from China.
